What are the 3 rules of Tajweed?
Introduction
We should read the Holy Quran according to Tajweed and there are many rules of Tajweed which will be mentioned in different articles. Basically in this article we will know about three rules of Meem Sakin which are applied repeatedly in Quran. Therefore it is necessary to learn these rules. There are three cases of Meem Sakin which are mentioned below.
- Idgham e Shafawi
- Ikhfa e Shafawi
- Izhar e Shafawi
What is Sakin?
Before learning about these cases you should know about Sakin
If any letter has sign of skoon (jazam) on it than that letter become sakin as you can see in the following picture
What is Idgham e Shafawi
When a meem ( م ) comes after meem sakin then Idgam e shafawi will be done, due to idgham e shafawi Do Ghunna (nasalization)
what is Ikhfa e Shafawi
When letter Ba( ب ) comes after meem sakin then Ikhfa e shafawi will be done, due to Ikhfa e shafawi Do Ghunna (nasalization)
What is Izhar e Shafawi
If any letter other than Ba( ب ) and meem ( م ) comes after meem sakin then Izhar e shafawi will be done, due to Izhar e shafawi Do not do Ghunna (nasalization)
